Notorious BIG’s estate is going after publicist Jonathan Hay, accusing him of concocting outlandish stories about CJ Wallace and Diddy to revive his stalled career and exact revenge on failed music projects.
Biggie’s estate claims that Hay’s interview sparked confusion on the Internet as he described graphic encounters that were fabricated and malicious in the complaint.
In an exclusive report obtained by AllHipHop, BIG’s attorneys say Hay began spreading false narratives after the estate refused to release his 2020 “Ready to Dance” remix.
Lawyers say Hay went from praising CJ Wallace as the “honor and privilege” of cooperating to spreading stories that put Wallace at the center of sensational accusations.
The estate noted that Hay said in an October 2024 interview that “Puffy had a sexual relationship with Biggie’s son, CJ.” Hay also claimed that Willie Mack was Wallace’s “boyfriend.”
The complaint lists both statements as fabricated attacks designed to damage Wallace’s credibility in the industry.
Hay escalated the story in later interviews, claiming that Wallace attended Dee Dee’s notoriously bizarre party and watched criminal sex acts.
He also accused Wallace of luring him to the home so Dee Dee could attack him. The estate said the claims were concocted and published knowingly to be false.
Hay’s most graphic accusation resurfaced in a report by AllHipHop.com.
In the report, Hay claimed that Diddy forced him to perform violent oral sex during a meeting in 2021 related to the remix project. He told interviewers that he was restrained by members of Diddy’s circle and forced to perform sex acts in the presence of Wallace and Mack.
High claimed in the report to police that Diddy eventually left an electronic ########## on a shirt Biggie once owned, threw it at High and said, “RIP, Big.”
The lawsuit calls the accusations reckless and improbable given Hay’s previous emails and behavior.
Hay praised Wallace and his team in a recorded message before the conflict escalated.
“I thoroughly enjoyed working with CJ and you guys as it was truly an honor,” he wrote on July 11, 2021. He added, “I had no issues with anyone else except Willie. It was such a pleasure working with all of you.”
The estate said the information showed Hay never mentioned the assault or inappropriate behavior until years later, when public attention might have benefited him.
The documents state that after the estate backed out of the remix project, Hay threatened to release the music without approval. These threats resulted in a cease and desist letter being issued on July 15, 2021.
The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages, saying Wallace suffered job losses as a result of statements posted on YouTube and social media platforms.
The estate says the interviews have attracted hundreds of thousands of viewers and continue to spread.
