Last week, Erykah Badu found herself in the spotlight among Beyoncé fans. The Dallas-born singer’s apparent mockery of Bey resulted in online torment from Beyhive members.
The conflict with the Hive appears to have had an emotional impact on Badu. The Baduizm album creator recently took to social media to express some of her feelings.
“My belly feels bloated. The moon makes me feel guilty and stressed. I don’t know why. But I’m up and I’m leaving,” Erykah Badu told her followers in an Instagram video.
She added, “I’ve been feeling like I’ve been acting out the last few days, kind of like I’m vibrating low. But it’s all part of the process. It’s all part of the cycle.”

The artwork for Beyoncé’s upcoming Cowboy Carter album has caught the attention of Erykah Badu. The neo-soul queen apparently believes her fellow Texans copied her braided/beaded hairstyle in this photo.
A simple Instagram Story post featuring a photo of Cowboy Carter with the caption “Hmm,” led to Beyoncé’s Stan Army launching an attack. At one point, Badu called on Bay’s husband, JAY-Z, to protect her from the hive.
Erykah Badu has previously accused Beyoncé of stealing her aesthetic. In July 2023, Badu joked that he was the Houston singer’s stylist after seeing Bey wearing a sombrero during the New Jersey leg of the Renaissance World Tour.
