As expected, Eminem’s latest album, The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Eminem’s “The Death of Slim Shady” No. 1
On Sunday (July 21), Billboard announced that Eminem’s latest album, “The Death of Slim Shady” (Coup de Grâce), has topped the Billboard 200 chart. The series sold a total of 281,000 equivalent album units from July 12 to the week ending July 18.
It marks Em’s 11th album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, joining rocker Bruce Springsteen, singer-actress Barbra Streisand and rapper-producer Ye tied for the fifth-highest album on the Billboard 200 chart.
It also marked the biggest first-week sales for a rap album in 2024, beating out this year’s previous record holder Future and Metro Boomin’s “We Don’t Trust You,” which sold an equivalent 251,000 copies in its first week in March. Album unit.
According to Billboard, “The Death of Slim Shady” has sold a total of 164,500 copies in Southeast Asia, equivalent to 220.08 million official streams of the album’s streaming version. In addition, the album sold 114,000 copies, all of which came from digital downloads, as LPs do not have a physical format. The remaining 2,500 units are TEA units.

Eminem delivers emotional and sarcastic rhymes on ‘The Death of Slim Shady’ album
Em returns with his 12th album, celebrating his demonic alter ego Slim Shady. The 19-track album features the Detroit rap god taking jibes at celebrities dead and alive, including Diddy, Candace Owens, Machine Gun Kelly Kelly ) etc. But Eminem shows off his emotional side on this record’s standout tracks. In “Temporary,” sung by Skylar Grey, Emme delivers heartfelt lyrics to her daughter Hailie Jade, who also lends her voice to the song. On “Somebody Save Me,” Eminem collaborated with Jelly Roll and apologized to his three other children for his past drug use.
Eminem has also released two music videos for the project: the campy, superhero-themed visual for “Houdini,” which samples the Steve Miller Band’s 1982 hit “Abracadabra,” and a video featuring Cole Bay. The imaginative “Toby” video directed by Cole Bennett and starring Big Sean and BabyTron.
