Eminem’s mother Debbie Nelson has died at the age of 69 after battling terminal lung cancer. She died Monday night in St. Joseph, Missouri, TMZ reports. Her initial diagnosis was made public back in September. Eminem has yet to comment publicly on her death.
The pair have had a rocky relationship throughout Eminem’s career, although she has congratulated him on his success in recent years. After her son was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, she posted a since-deleted video on social media to celebrate him. “Marshall, I just want to say that I can’t let this day go by without congratulating you on your induction into the Hall of Fame,” she said at the time. “I love you so much. I know you’ll get there. It’s been a long journey. I’m so, so proud of you.”
