If you’re a hip-hop fan, Elliott Wilson is a name that needs no introduction. Not only is he the co-host of the Rap Radar Podcast, a legendary podcast that gives him close access to some of the top artists in the game, he’s also an accomplished music industry executive.
From serving as music editor of The Source magazine in ’96 and editor-in-chief of XXL magazine in ’99, to spending more than six years of his valuable career at TIDAL – Wilson has spared no effort to leave an indelible mark on music history. But of course, he’s far from done.

Adding another feather to his (rather decorated!) cap, Wilson now takes on editorial director duties for UPROXX, HipHopDX and Dime Magazine in order to elevate the status of these coveted hip-hop brands to new heights.
I couldn’t be more excited to be co-creating with such amazing brands, creators and artists. Also happy to work with @iamwill and @JarretMyer

In a recent interview with Billboard , Wilson also paid tribute to industry legends like Jaret Myer, Rich Antoniello and artist will.i.am – all three of whom Wilson will be working directly with. Prior to this, the trio recently acquired UPROXX, HipHopDX and Dime Magazine from Warner Music Group and joined forces to form UPROXX Studios. If will.i.am’s enthusiasm is any indication, it looks like these platforms will use artificial intelligence in innovative ways to add more value to the broadcast and news landscape, although it’s unclear what these innovations will bring to culture.
Congratulations, Elliot!
