Cash Money was up…well, sort of, in New York on Friday night (November 21). The 30th anniversary celebration was held in Long Island, and people were full of expectations for the entire empire. You know, the complete Birdman hand rub special. But when the lights hit the stage, only BG and Juvenile slipped in. Only them. That’s it. An army of two suppressed one of hip-hop’s biggest dynasties for three decades.
Now look… We all know that the cash currency family tree has been through it all – hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and more. They separate, reunite, separate again, become calm again, become less calm again – and so on. a lot of. But people were surprised. They just finished No Limit Verzuz, without Lil Wayne.

DJ Self jumped out and said the obvious: “Only 2 guys show up to play in NY, come on man, cash money, you gotta keep it together, NY loves you, don’t treat us like this 😩” (No editing needed. You got it!)
Those who bought tickets were expecting a full celebration, not a double act.
But — and this is a huge “but” — everyone who actually attended the show said BG and Juve tore that stage to shreds. They practice it! New York crowds aren’t easy to impress, but these two were outstanding. Even our own AllHipHop staff raved about it.
From what I heard, when “Back That Azz Up” came on… the whole place went into chaos.
So despite the missing members, the night was still a triumph. But let’s be honest… there’s a bigger conversation here. If it were its 30th anniversary this year, Cash Money might need to reorganize and restrategize. Yes, have good relations with the Turks. People like Turks. Turks bring value. Turks bring nostalgia. Turk is part of the DNA. Someone has to make that call. Other than that, hats off to BG and Juvie the Great!
We are about to conduct interviews with BG and Juvenile.
stay tuned…
