Atlanta, Georgia emcee Jay NiCE and local dump gawd himself Tha God Fahim are back with their fifth collaborative EP. The two have collaborated numerous times over the past few years, collaborating on the collaborative album Strictly 4 My DUMPERZ in the spring of 2018 and the Bloodspiller EP about 3 years ago. Produced by Nicholas Craven, “Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 12” becomes their greatest joint effort to date, from Chapters 17 and 18 to Chapter 20.

“Panamera” sets the tone soulfully, both talking about the traffic and revenue their streams bring, while “The Yolk” takes a funkier approach, giving the MC tools in a scary way. “Take It on the Chin” calls out those who pretend to act on the piano, before the colorful “Destroying Power” discusses people’s consistency.

The song “Abandon Ship” counts down the last 6 minutes or so of Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 20, with soul samples talking about how thriving they are in their current position, while “Deadlifts” jumps on the flute to brag that no one can do it hotter than them. Cold Steel last talked about their cosmic influences using some sampling techniques to complete the EP.

The 5-episode second season of the Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap saga, 60% of which (including the latest entry) is with Jay NiCE, except this is probably the best episode since episode 12 when it came to talking about his work with Tha God Fahim. Of course, you can’t go wrong with Nicholas Craven’s production, but having the two Southern hip-hop artists on the mic together heightened their chemistry more than 17 and 18.

Score: 8/10
