Tha God Fahim invites Nicholas Craven to create his 48th EP. Starting out as an affiliate of Griselda Records and becoming 1/3 of the Dump Gawds along with Mach-Hommy & Your Old Droog, we can’t ignore the vast amount of records he has made for himself, some of his standouts include Breaking Through the Van Allen Belt and Dumping Assassins. But this guy has a crazy EP coming out in 2023, the best of which are the Camoflauge Monk-produced Dark Shogunn Assassin, the Nature Sounds-backed Iron Bull and the Nicholas Craven-produced Dump Gawd: Shot Clock King series, Oh No- by Dump Gawd: Rhyme Pays by Mike Shabb, Tha Supreme Hoarder of All Pristine Wealth by Cookin’ Soul, Supreme Dump Legend: Soul Cook Saga and most recently Machine Gun Vocabulary by Cartune Beatz. It’s been five years since The Myth of Never Give Up, and we received issues two and three last month. Following last weekend’s release of “Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap,” they’re releasing a sequel.
“Unfathomable Terror” is an affectionate intro, promising that your wounds will never heal and that he will always be sick, while “Shogun Jump” takes a more grim but hardcore route, subtly talking about his legacy Being fixed to a stone and calling himself the golden goose trash. “Planet Quest” links to a famous piano sample, compares his rapping to war, and declares himself a scholar in it for money, while “Planet Vegeta” keeps the keys intact and talk of the game is downplayed.
Opening the other half of the EP, “Otha World” is a soulfully written track about grief as he borrows time and remains strong after the loss of a loved one, before “Onslaught” pulls a little from the orchestral grooves to show how he Determined to achieve goals. “Mad Life Menace” returns the chipmunk to the forefront of his soul, ensuring he remains a threat on the mic, and “Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 3” closes the EP with a jazzy take on the trilogy of songs of the same name.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Fahim drops Dump Gawd: Hyperbolic Time Chamber Rap 3 next weekend or the weekend after that, as he’s been dumping non-stop over the last month, but he and Nicholas Craven continue to prove themselves to be unstoppable Duo. Like the other 3 projects they’ve put out in the last month, the production of the latter is absolutely flawless in the 20 minute experience, and Dump Gawd goes even harder than it did last weekend.
