Rapper Julio Frio was stalked in Tampa and assassinated during a brutal gang fight, prosecutors revealed Tuesday.
Court documents detail a series of sinister events that led to the death of Foolio, a member of the KTA/6 Block gang who was targeted by a rival ATK gang.
On Sunday, June 23, Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones Jr., was shot and killed while celebrating his birthday at a Holiday Inn.
Court records show the suspects Isaiah Chance, Alicia Andrews, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy ) and Rashad Murphy followed Foolio to two strip clubs in two cars – a Chevrolet Cruze and a Chevrolet Impala – before ambushing him at a hotel.
The attackers wielded two AR-style rifles and a Glock pistol in the cold-blooded killing.
Investigators found that Chance and his girlfriend, Andrews, followed Foolio from one strip club to another on the night of the murder.
Surveillance footage showed Chance using his cellphone at one of the clubs to call Garth Wright, who was in the second car.
The two vehicles eventually converged at the Holiday Inn, where the fatal attack occurred.
The suspect circled Forio’s vehicle twice before the Murphys and Gaswrights opened fire. Julio Foolio was pronounced dead at the scene, and three others were injured in the hail of bullets.
Law enforcement agencies have arrested four of the five suspects who are currently facing first-degree murder charges and are being held without bail.
Authorities are actively searching for Davion Murphy and his arrest appears imminent.
