Drake is trying to “limit” Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance, Wack 100 reports.
During a live broadcast over the weekend, the controversial music manager claimed that Drizzy was using legal tactics to influence Kendrick’s highly anticipated Super Bowl performance in New Orleans next year.
“He’s trying to get the NFL to limit Kendrick,” Wacker said.
He also claimed that Drake had issued a cease-and-desist order to Kendrick in an attempt to prevent him from performing his chart-topping diss track “Not Like Us.”
It’s unclear why or how Drake stopped Kendrick from performing the song, given that the Compton superstar has already performed the song live and is widely available on streaming services.
Wacker also wouldn’t reveal where he got the information, but said JAY-Z, who helped organize the halftime show, would not allow K.Dot to be scrutinized by Drake or the NFL.
Earlier this month, K.Dot was announced as the halftime performer at next year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans.
During the announcement, Kendrick stood in front of an American flag on the football field and threw a pass to an unseen receiver, who many believed was throwing more balls to Drake.
“Rap music remains the most influential music genre ever created,” he said in an official statement. “I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right guy.
He also said in the promotional video: “You know there’s only one chance to win the championship; there’s no two rounds.
The line “There is no second round” appears to be a direct callback to a clip of a Rasheed Wallace interview that Drake previously posted, in which the former Detroit Pistons star committed to playing against the 2004 NBA Eastern Conference Finals The Indiana Pacers won in Game 2.
The Sixer also seems to support the idea that Lil Wayne should pass Kendrick in next year’s Super Bowl.
Since the competition will be held in Weezy’s hometown of New Orleans, many fans and industry insiders are hoping the rap legend will be chosen to perform.
