Drake wasn’t kidding when he said “summer vibes.” The rapper has done a 180 since ending his rap battle with Kendrick Lamar. He no longer mocks opponents on social media or releases diss tracks. To make matters worse, he deleted his last comment on Instagram, “The Heart Part 6.” Some fans believe the rapper did this because he wasn’t particularly proud of that song. However, this theory was abandoned on June 5 when Drake decided to delete all taunts towards Lamar from Instagram.

Drake deleted the IG links for “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” He also removed the audio link and music video link for “Family Matters.” The final set, the aforementioned “The Heart Part 6,” had been pulled the day before. This is a shocking twist considering Drake wanted to fight Lamar in the first place. Drake clearly wants to start a new chapter. He posted a photo of his Rolex watch. What’s striking, though, is that the rapper referenced one of Lamar’s major accusations in the caption. He dismissed the idea that his OVO team was being compromised, writing: “The only yes person around me is my Rolex dealer.”

Drake’s Diss Song Still Playing on Streaming Platforms

When fans realized Drake took down K. Dot’s comments, they lashed out at him. They brought up the fact that he had previously criticized the rapper for being a “tweeter and deleter” while filming the footage. “Didn’t he say ‘tweet and delete’ even though he knew he lost,” one user wrote. Another claimed we were finally seeing what Kanye West had wanted to see. “We’re witnessing Drake being wiped out in real time,” they tweeted. There were a ton of responses that conveyed the sentiment that the Sixers wanted to move on from the Lamar fight, which he lost so handily. “He wants you all to forget about it lol,” one amused follower wrote.

Someone came to Drake’s defense. Some fans have pointed out that he may be gearing up for a new album cycle and looking to clean up his profile. This is something many artists do as a means of marking a new era. “Every artist cleans up their social media before their stock price drops significantly,” one person wrote on Twitter. “All songs are still on streaming platforms, that’s what matters.”

Fans mock Drake for his ‘tweets and deletes’

Regardless of whether the comments were made live or not, most people viewed the decision to remove them from IG as Drake waving the white flag again. Keep scrolling to read more social media reactions to Drake’s latest decision. Do you think this is a bad idea? Is Drake ready to release something new? Let us know in the comments, and check back soon for more music/pop culture news updates.
