WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels proposed a way to end the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar on Monday (May 6). After Kendrick mentioned Michaels in the diss track “Not Like Us,” the retired wrestler made an offer to both rappers.
“A little sweet chin music goes a long way,” Michaels wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “@kendricklamar, you and @Drake are officially invited to #WWENXT to resolve this matter. I’m even offering to mediate.
Michaels oversees WWE’s developmental brand NXT. Michael envisions Drake and Kendrick appearing on the weekly television show NXT, which currently airs on the USA Network but will move to The CW later this year.
Kendrick mentioned Michaels’ finishing move “Sweet Chin Music” from “Not Like Us.” The song was missing from K. Dot’s recent string of diss against Drake.
“Sweet chin music, I ain’t gonna pass the assist,” Kendrick raps.
Drake and Kendrick’s battle began when the latter fired lyrical shots at the Canadian star on “Future” and “Metro Boomin'” song “Like That” in March. Drake responded in April with two diss songs, “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.”
Kendrick dropped his response “Euphoria” on the last day of April. K. Dot isn’t done yet, as he quickly released another diss song, “6:16 in LA,” on Friday (May 3).
Drake is trying to take control ahead of the weekend. He made abuse accusations against Kendrick’s song “Family Matters,” which was also removed from shelves on Friday. But Kendrick didn’t give Drake a chance to breathe, and immediately responded “Meet the Grahams” a few minutes later. The Pulitzer Prize winner continued his dissatisfaction with Drake by releasing “Not Like Us” on Saturday (May 4).
The last two songs mark a clear escalation in the beef. Kendrick accused Drake of being a pedophile and hiding another child, among other accusations. Drake attempted to defend himself by releasing “The Heart Part 6” on Sunday (May 5).
