In a recently released throwback video, Drake revealed that his 2016 song “Too Good” was about tennis star Serena Williams, who the rapper once dated.
Drake spills tea on song about Serena Williams
On Tuesday (August 6), Drizzy dropped three new songs and 100 GB of never-before-seen videos on the 100gigs.org website, giving his fans several days of content. One clip shows Aubrey letting his mother, Sandy Graham, listen to new music in the studio around 2016. ”.
“I’m heavy on a few joints, but this is more about me and Serena,” Drake told his mom.
Sandy replied, “I guessed it.” Drake smiled.
Drake continued, “It’s funny because when I write songs about women, I also write songs about them. So, I know what kind of songs… if I’m going to talk about them, I at least It would be fair to them to write a song that they love, I know Serena very well and I know she will hear my song loud and clear but she won’t hate me for it either because it’s so effortless .
“Too Good” appears on Drake’s 2016 Views album. The dance track sees Drake croon about a bad relationship.
“Listen, I don’t know how to talk to you/I don’t know how to ask you if you’re okay/My friends always feel the need to tell me something/It seems like they’re just happier than the rest of us, yeah,” Drake rhymed. “These days, I don’t know how to talk to you/I don’t know how to be there for you when you need me/It feels like the only time you see me/is when you turn your head to the side and look at me differently ,Yes.
Many fans believe the song is about Rihanna, considering she and Drake have also dated in the past and she also appears in the song.

Drake and Serena Williams’ past relationship
Rumors that Drake and Serena Williams were dating began in 2011 when he started attending her tennis matches. The next year, Drake and Common had a highly publicized feud over the two rappers’ affection for the tennis star. In 2015, Derek and Serena were caught on camera making out. By 2017, their romance seemed to be over.
In 2022, Drake named Serena on Her Loss’ single “Middle of the Ocean,” mentioning her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
“I swear, you guys ain’t doin’ movies/sidebars, Serena, your husband’s a groupie,” Drake raps on the song. “He claims we don’t have a problem, but / No, shush, it’s like you come and get sushi / We might just randomly show up on them like Suzuki.”
Alexis Ohanian responded with force. Ohanian wrote on of groupies.
