Dee Barnes is one of the loudest voices in hip-hop on the issue of domestic violence. She was attacked by Dr Dre at a party in 1991 and later sued the rapper. He disliked any competition and despite his crimes, his career was relatively unscathed. Dee Barnes is revered for her bravery and willingness to discuss her experiences. This qualified her to speak out about the recently released footage of Diddy attacking Cassie in a hotel hallway.
Former rapper and journalist Barnes took to social media to share her thoughts. She made it clear she was shocked by what she saw on the surveillance footage because it reminded her of the ordeal she endured decades ago. “Very exciting to see this video,” she wrote on X. Barnes later said she would no longer use social media due to the widespread exposure of the video. “Logging out.”

Dee Barnes describes Dee Dee’s behavior as disgusting
However, Dee Barnes did return to the X on the night of May 19 to show her support for Cassie. She also made sure to call out Diddy for her horrific behavior. “I am disgusted and disappointed in Sean Combs,” she wrote on Twitter. “I stand with #Cassie, #KimPorter and all other victims of his violent abuse.” This came shortly after Diddy issued a public apology in the form of an Instagram video. The tycoon has tried to address footage of the attack and other crimes he is accused of, but reaction to the apology has been overwhelmingly negative.
When Dr. Dre issued a public apology in 2015, Barnes was similarly skeptical. However, none of that excuses what I did…I’m doing the best I can so I’ll never look like that person again. .
