This is the twelfth EP from Orange County, the New York duo. Matter Ove & EP, a manufacturer of MCS/producer, caused waves underground by discarding 8 full-length albums along with 11 EPS and 6 Beat Tapes. Outstanding people include their sophomore effort in breaking through, The Lone Shark, Follow-up Hack, their fifth album DOPP Hopp, Aaaaggghh, Black Cloak Lifestyle & Leaving. It has been past recent years since the latter began making West Coast sounds rather than roots, and they decided to hit us with a sequel.
After the introduction of “Jo VM”, the title track is a G-Funk opener that once again demonstrates their love for the state of sunshine, while “Everyone” plays in the piano/Boom Bap bap instrument, talking about everyone strides forward. “Do it like we do” brings the influence of funk back to touting that no one can do some shit at their level, and “Will take a hit” is a ballad by G-funk’s heavy Stoner. “Too Much” and you can cover it all with 1 last G-funk joint when you’re out on the weekend.
Since continuing on G Pack Saga within 23 months of their initial departure, Doppelgangaz once again moved from the traditional boom style of the founder of Groggy Pack Entertainment to the West Coast inspiration, thus attracting G-funk production again and with ease of functioning and carrying the original original theme.
Score: 8/10
