Donald Trump stepped up the threat to Iran the day before his birthday on Friday (June 14) and strengthened the threat in a controversial military parade, praising Israel’s massive air attacks on Iran’s nuclear and military sites and warning that “more” destruction could follow.
In a series of posts about the Truth Society, the president praised the Israeli operation for killing senior Iranian commanders and scientists, and said future attacks were already in action unless Tehran agreed to the new terms.
“I gave Iran the opportunity to reach a deal. I told them with the strongest words, ‘do’, but no matter how hard they try, no matter how close they are, they can’t finish it.”
According to BBC News, Israeli air strikes were launched earlier on Friday (June 13) to target more than 100 locations, including the Natanz nuclear enrichment facility, using more than 200 ammunition and dropped by 200 fighter jets.
Iran retaliated by firing more than 100 drones to Israel, most of which were intercepted.
President Trump continued: “I told them that it will be more than they know, expected or told that the United States has by far the best, deadliest military equipment anywhere in the world, and Israel has a lot of stuff, and there’s a lot of stuff – they know how to use it.”
The strike has marked Israel’s most important military action against Iran since the Iran-Iraq War.
Israel claims it destroyed key parts of Iran’s air defense system, including the S-300 missile battery. The United States notified the United States in advance but did not participate.
“Some of the Iranian hard-linenar’s speeches spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what would happen. They are dead now and only got worse! There has been a lot of death and destruction, but there is still time to kill this massacre, and the next attack that has been planned is even more cruel,” Trump added.
The president’s remarks come as he prepares to hold a military-themed birthday celebration on Saturday (June 14), and critics say it could further spark tensions in the region.
Donald Trump’s remarks have attracted the attention of foreign policy experts, who warned that the threat could lead the United States to deeper into the Middle East conflict.
“Iran must reach an agreement before there is nothing left and preserve what was once called the Iranian Empire. There is no more death, no more destruction, just do it before it’s too late. God bless everyone!” Trump concluded.
The United Nations calls for emergency diplomacy, while Iran demands international action in the Security Council. Global leaders urge restrictions as oil prices rise and airspace closures throughout the region.
