The song of the summer battle has officially begun, and some amazing rappers are taking to the ring this week with new projects. This week, a Cactus Jack signee returns with new music after just a year away from the studio, a Memphis rapper also drops his first album since 2021, and a duo from New Orleans A series of hard-hitting new albums have reignited the craze.
Don Toliver drops ‘Hard Rock’
It’s only been a year since Don Toliver released his Love Sick album, but the Houston rapper continues his creative career with his latest album, Hardstone Psycho . Toliver got off to a strong start in 2024 with singles “Bandit” and “Deep in the Water” in February and March. Following the release of third single “Attitude,” a collaboration with Cash Cobain and Charlie Wilson, in May, Tolliver confirmed that all three songs are part of the new album rollout. The new project also features additional performances from Travis Scott, Kodak Black, Teezo Touchdown and Future.
Moneybagg Yo is back and speaking now
On May 1, Moneybagg Yo announced that he would be releasing a new album titled “Speak Now.” In an Instagram post unveiling the project’s cover, he said the new tape was for his day one fans, writing: “This is for my core fan base from day one, the ones that have been there since the beginning People! He followed up with new singles “Tryna Make Sure” and “Play Da Fool” on June 7, his first new project since his last “Hard to Love” mixtape. They ranked No. 1 and No. 10 respectively on the Billboard 200 chart.

$uicideboy$ launches new project New World Depression
$uicideboy$ release their latest effort “New World Depression”. The album follows their releases of Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation and their Dirtiestnasiest EP with Germ. “New World Depression”‘s lead single “Us vs. They” debuted at No. 96 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April. or the Dust” on the table? and “The Thin Gray Line” in May. In addition to the new project, $uicideboy$ will also embark on his annual Gray Day tour starting August 7th with support from Denzel Curry, Pouya, Shakewell, HAARPER and Ekkstacy.
