Doja Cat has a dual role in therapy and studio, and it all blends together in her next album Vie, which she says is shaping her two weekly mental health lessons.
Sitting down with Zane Lowe of Apple Music, the rapper turned into Pop-Star, honestly speaking, how treatments can make her change her voice and mindset more clearly.
“I think treatment has always been my main [source]. This album does develop from my therapy courses and is there twice a week and learn and learn about human experiences and how our brains work subconsciously and consciously. ” she said while chatting.
Vie is her fifth studio album, scheduled to be screened on September 26, 2025, and returns to the pop atmosphere after 2023’s rap-focused project Scarlet.
She tends to use topics such as love, desire and relationship chaos, with lighter themes. Thinking about pop music from the 1980s.
“It’s really because of the lack of better words, and it’s interesting. I think that’s what people need right now is that it’s going to be fun to remember life and not always so serious,” Doja said.
She added that while serious topics are important, she wanted something people could be excited about without having to do a therapy degree to decode.
The main single “Jealous Type” dropped on Thursday (August 21). The entire launch of the album is for French fashion, with paris-shot trailer and reveals a gorgeous album cover on August 20.
Even the title Vie is in French in “Life”.
“I feel sexy, I feel inspired, I feel like I have learned a lot in therapy and I can turn it into something positive,” Doja added.
She will begin her 11 shows later this year in Asia and Oceania.
