DJ Quik threatens to sue Instagram for ‘violating’ his rights

DJ Quik is considering filing a lawsuit against Instagram and similar social media apps that he says violate his First Amendment rights.

As it is defined, the First Amendment states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the freedom thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

On Friday (August 16), Quik received a violation for his comments on Instagram and threatened legal action.

“I believe it is time to file a class action lawsuit against this and other social media platforms for violating my First Amendment rights,” he wrote in the post. He added in the caption: “I say What I said. Then, close the account completely.

However, it looked like he might have changed his tune, writing a few hours later on his Story: “My lawyer just told me I’m wasting my time on Instagram.”

In other news, DJ Quik recently revealed that he shed a tear at Kendrick Lamar’s explosive “Pop Out” concert in Los Angeles in June, but it wasn’t the product of happiness.

The West Coast legend admitted during an interview with AllHipHop at the 2024 BET Awards that he regretted not being able to perform on the show due to previous commitments.

“I was in the thick of it in Canada when all this solidarity was happening,” he said, before turning to the question and adding: “I was watching you guys at the stupid Hilton hotel that night, crying myself to sleep. I started hating it. I told What’s wrong with you?

Quick was on a summer tour with Snoop Dogg the night of the concert, so the two were unable to return to Southern California in time to celebrate the West Coast.

He added: “Snoop tried to fly us back for Pop Out. He tried to charter a plane but logistically it didn’t work out because we would miss the show in Ottawa, Canada. But we were sitting there steaming. I It’s steaming!

“Pop Out” concluded at the Inglewood Forum in June. In addition to appearances from Los Angeles superstars like Dr. Dre, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Tyler, the Creator, YG and Roddy Ricch, Kendrick also invited members of the Crips and Bloods to take the stage.
