Diddy oversees his harsh warnings on his racket and sex trafficking cases Thursday (June 5) after his exaggerated gesture to jurors during his testimony in a federal court in Manhattan.
U.S. District Court Judge Jesse M.
Didi “nods vigorously” to the jurors, which could be interpreted as an attempt to influence the team, the judge said.
The tension in the court occurred during cross-examination by Cassie Ventura’s designer and long-time friend Bongolan.
Bongoland also claimed Didi threatened his life and told her: “I’m the devil, I can kill you.” Defense attorney Nicole Westmoreland spent most of Wednesday trying to tear down Bongoland’s credibility and inflicts on her inconsistent and past actions.
Westmoreland questioned why Bongolan continued to contact Ventura and Diddy even after the alleged attack, noting that text messages and concerts were present in the following weeks.
“You are still taking drugs with Cassie on May 31, 2016, right?” Westmoreland asked, and Bongolan replied, “Yes.”
Westmoreland also challenged claims made in the civil lawsuit, suggesting that her former attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, had filed sexual assault charges, and she repeated it later, despite knowing they were false.
Bongolan admitted she did not write a letter of demand and did not review her interview description.
When asked if she intends to accuse Didi of sexual assaulting, Bongol hesitated and said, “It’s hard to commit to the entire sentence.”
Westmoreland noted that Bongolan had never been to emergency care or reported the incident to the police and continued to communicate with Didi and Ventura, including asking “whether Puff wants a sweatshirt” two weeks after the alleged balcony incident.
The defense also questioned the schedule of the alleged attacks, noting that metadata in a photo showed that Bongolan was injured and diddy was reportedly on the West Coast.
During the redirection, the prosecutor tried to reiterate Bongolan’s testimony, asking her if she had any questions, and Didi held her on the balcony. “No doubt,” she replied.
The trial resumed on Thursday (June 5), and another alleged victim is expected to be identified as only “Jane”.
