Diddy’s legal team claimed that CNN destroyed the original 2016 footage and attacked his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura.
Didi’s lawyer accuses CNN of destroying original Cassie assault footage
In court filings filed on Thursday (March 13), Puff’s attorneys outlined the issues they believe should be resolved at a pretrial meeting held on Friday (March 14). One of Diddy’s lawyers’ concerns was the recording of Diddy’s eye-catching Cassie in the corridor of the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles in 2016. Puff’s team said CNN purchased the only copy of the lens and edited the version, which has been shown to the public and court.
“This includes covering the timestamps and then changing the video sequence,” the filing reads. “This also includes speeding up the video so that the action in the video occurs faster than before. As a result, CNN videos do not accurately describe the event.”
The document continues that CNN destroyed the original video “even though it knows and repeatedly reports on the federal investigation.”
The video is one of the key evidence that the prosecution will use DIDDY.
XXL has contacted CNN for comment.
CNN originally aired a disturbing 2016 surveillance video that caught the eye and kicked Cassie last May’s Bad Boy Entertainment.
Diddy’s legal team believes there is a problem with the video. Last November, they accused the government of showing the judges an edited version of the tape, which decided whether the musician would be contacted.
He will also be arraigned for the recent replacement of the indictment at Diddy’s March 14 hearing, which complements the claims of forced labor and causes employees to engage in sexual acts.
Diddy’s charges for sexual trafficking, extortion and traffic prostitution are scheduled to begin on May 5.
