Diddy’s attorneys accuse prosecutors of editing video of Cassie’s 2016 attack to make Puff appear more threatening to a judge who will decide whether to grant bail.
Diddy’s legal team files motion ahead of detention hearing
Diddy’s legal team is working hard ahead of a bail hearing on Friday (November 22). On Thursday (November 21), they filed a motion accusing the government of showing the judge an altered version of a video of Cassie’s fight that was leaked in March during his last bail hearing.
“The strength of the primary evidence relied upon by the government to demonstrate … danger has been weakened by the new information,” the motion states.
Diddy’s legal team claimed prosecutors had the original video but “chose not to share it with the court. Instead, it provided an edited version of the CNN video as the strongest evidence of its dangers and obstruction.”
Didi’s lawyers claimed the footage did not show the outcome of a “weird” party gone wrong, as prosecutors had previously alleged, but instead showed a simple domestic dispute.
“Compared to the government’s sensationalized CNN clip, the more complete footage of the incident contradicts the government’s account,” the legal filing reads. “The video shows Mr. Combs actually running across the hall to get a bag of clothes and A cell phone he didn’t ‘drag’.” [Victim-1] As the government and its reordered exhibit wrongly suggest, he did not throw the vase at Victim 1, but only the contents (presumably the flowers), and she was “not only…able…to walk back from the hall to the room” Leave once ‘security gets involved’.

Didi hopes to be released on bail after multiple attempts
Diddy is set for a detention hearing after repeatedly failing to secure bail ahead of his criminal trial. Judges rejected Didi’s bail appeals three times after prosecutors successfully argued that Didi was capable of tampering with witnesses. Diddy’s attorneys initially proposed a $50 million bond. The defense filing comes three days after the government accused Diddy of trying to contact potential witnesses in jail.
Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since her arrest on September 16 on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation for prostitution. His trial date is scheduled for May 25, 2025.
