Diddy is seeking the dismissal of an anonymous sexual assault lawsuit.
Diddy seeks dismissal of Jane Doe’s sexual assault lawsuit
Court documents filed on Friday (May 10) and obtained by XXL reveal that Diddy is asking a judge to dismiss the sexual assault lawsuit Jane Doe filed against him. The Bad Boy Entertainment founder argued through his attorney that the statute of limitations related to the statute under which Jane Doe filed the lawsuit has expired.
“Plaintiff’s [Jane Doe] VGM [The Victims of Gender Motivated Violence Protection Law] The claim is time-barred. Based on conduct that allegedly occurred in 2003 and subject to VGM’s seven-year statute of limitations, plaintiff’s claims expired in 2010,” the motion states.
Additionally, Diddy (real name Sean Combs) has denied the accusations against him.
“Mr. Coombs and his company categorically deny the plaintiffs’ story that has been leveled against them for decades, before any evidence has been produced, which has caused immeasurable harm to their reputation and business standing,” the lawsuit reads. Companies owned by Lt. Gen. Coombs are named as defendants. “The plaintiff cannot claim what day or day of the year the alleged incident occurred, but despite her allegedly incapacitated state, she miraculously remembers other salacious details.”
“Accordingly, this case should now be dismissed with prejudice to protect the Coombs defendants from further reputational harm and to avoid further waste of party and judicial resources,” the lawsuit concluded.
In addition to the aforementioned lawsuit, Diddy is also being sued by three other women and one man, Rodney Jones (aka Lil Rod), alleging similar sexual abuse allegations, all of which the hip-hop mogul has categorically denied.
