Sam Bankman, the shameful founder of cryptocurrency exchange FTX, which lost billions of dollars in investors, commented on his experience in the same prison as the Sean “Diddy” comb.
In an interview with jailed cryptocurrency brother Tucker Carlson, he talked about his time in prison, revealing that he shared a facility with hip-hop tycoon Mogul Diddy, who is currently being federally trafficked and blackmailed at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center. Asked directly whether he was in contact with Combs, Bankman Fried shared his insights into the environment behind the bar and his interactions with the embattled music director.
“He’s, he’s,” Bankman said, confirming that he’s in the same department as Diddy. He added: “Well, I, I don’t know, you know, he’s always been kind.”

He elaborated on the fact that despite their limited interaction, Combs also showed kindness to the rest of the unit when Carlson pressed him on Combs’ Demeano.
“Obviously, I only saw one piece of him, and that’s Diddy in prison. And, you know, he’s kind to the people in this unit. He’s kind to me.”
Bankman exploded, continuing to describe the prison atmosphere as a high-profile inmate and former gang member.
“It’s a weird environment, it’s a combination of some other high-profile cases, and a lot more, you know it’s a former residents or some form of suspected former unity,” he said.
Despite the unique circumstances, Bankman Fried acknowledged the harsh reality of their lockdown.
“It’s also, it’s a position where no one wants to get into, obviously he doesn’t,” he said. “As you said, it’s a frustrating place.”
The discussion turns to how inmates see them as two of the most famous figures in the prison system.
“Of course some of them are, ‘wow, it’s a big opportunity, like meeting someone they wouldn’t have met originally, and it was the first time I’ve heard it, and it shocked me. “It makes sense from their perspective, but like boys, it’s not what I think of prison.”
Bankman fried also shared unexpected revelations about his prisoners, who described him as former Robles, who did not speak English.
“They are good at chess,” he said. “That’s one thing I learned, for example, what you know is former armed robbers, they don’t speak English, and you know, maybe not graduated from high school, one of the surprising numbers is pretty good at chess. I’ve lost to them all the time. I didn’t expect it.”
Bankman Fried, once one of the most influential figures in the cryptocurrency world, was convicted of multiple frauds and conspiracies related to the FTX crash. Prosecutors argued that he orchestrated a multi-billion dollar plan to deceive investors and abuse client funds. He was convicted on all charges and sentenced to 25 years in federal prison, marking a violent fall of former billionaire Grace.
