A judge has given Sean “Diddy” Combs a glimmer of hope as he desperately tries to get out of prison before his criminal trial begins in 2025. Arun Subramanian is scheduled to hold a hearing on Diddy’s bail motion in November22.
Judge Subramanian ordered prosecutors to respond to Diddy’s motion by Friday (November 15). RSVPs for the hip-hop mogul are due on November 20.
Diddy’s lawyers filed another motion for bail on November 8.
“The evidence clearly shows that the government’s case is weak,” Didi’s attorney argued. “It corroborates the defense’s initial account of the events depicted in the March 2016 video [was incorrect]: The footage is not evidence of a forced “escape” but is a one-minute glimpse into the complex but decade-long consensual relationship between Mr Coombs and Victim 1 [believed to be Cassie]. Additionally, the new evidence rebuts the government’s suggestion at the initial hearing about a potential second alleged victim. The new evidence confirms that the government’s accusations of obstruction and witness tampering made during the original bail hearing lacked factual basis.

Diddy’s legal team also claimed that the conditions of his prison sentence violated his right to participate in his defence.
“Given the government’s revised estimate of the amount of discovery in this case, as well as its unique format, including the extensive video and photographic evidence, it is necessary that Mr. Combs be released on the terms proposed so that he can review the discovery and prepare for trial. Be prepared,” his attorney wrote. “Despite MDC’s best efforts to accommodate the needs of the defense team, the current arrangements make trial preparation impossible – as evidenced by the recent multi-agency sweep of the facility and the resulting lockdown. Bail Reform The Act and the Constitution demand more.
Didi has been behind bars since his arrest in September 2024. He was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation for prostitution. His trial is scheduled for May 2025.
