Denzel Curry and JPEGMAFIA are an unmatched duo. They get a hit every time they sing a song together, and their new single “JPEGULTRA!” is proof of that. Corey and Page are very different artists, but equally passionate about music and pushing their respective sounds. Apparently, Kanye West took notice and recruited both rappers to work on his latest album. Fans don’t know this because neither Denzel Curry nor JPEGMAFIA are credited, but they both spent time in the VULTURES 2 studio. Curry told us on Twitter on August 13th.
Despite the hype and confusion surrounding VULTURES 2, Denzel Curry’s reveal was pretty simple. “Both JPEG and I were involved in the development of VULTURES 2,” he wrote, without elaborating. The idea of these two artists collaborating with Kanye West is noteworthy, as neither has officially collaborated with the Chicago rapper. If anything, Denzel Curry and Page are making headlines for criticizing West and his recent performance. For example, Curry criticized West’s album “DONDA” on social media. Corey also teased Drake’s certified lover boy. “DONDA and CLB could have done better,” he wrote. “You’re all rich and have the greatest musicians at your disposal.” Curry also roasted the artwork for both versions.
Denzel Curry previously criticized Ye on Twitter
JPEGMAFIA has been more vocal in her criticism of Kanye West. He accused the rapper of working with talent he considered substandard rather than working with people like him. “You spent 27 n**gas tweaking the hi-hat just to make some midrange,” he tweeted in January. “Talk to real scientists, brother, don’t waste your time.” It seems that Peggy’s wish has come true. He and Denzel Curry had the opportunity to appear on VULTURES 2. However, as we said before, none of their contributions made it into the final cut. Furthermore, Corey and Page didn’t even appear on the bonus tracks or the revised album track listing.
To say that the launch of VULTURES 2 was troubled would be an understatement. This is one of the most infamous albums of all time in terms of release, and it was released less than a month ago. One can hope that Denzel Curry and JPEGMAFIA’s contributions will surface at some point in the future. Hell, maybe they’ll both be on the VULTURES 3 tracklist. More songs by Yeku.
