Prosecutors in the Lil Durk murder case will not seek death penalty.
The death penalty on the table in the Lil Durk case
With Lil Durk’s trial looming, more motions continue to be filed in the case. Court documents were filed on Monday (June 2) and the U.S. attorney general directed U.S. attorneys in central California not to seek death penalty against the 32-year-old Chicago rapper.
Durk is currently awaiting trial after being arrested in October last year and has been charged for killing Quando Rondo’s cousin Saviay’a Robinson aka Lul Pab in 2022. Durk is charged with several crimes, including the use of interstate facilities for murder and the use, carrying and release of firearms to facilitate violent crimes that result in death. He is accused of paying five men to go to California to kill Quando. The murder attempt at a gas station in Beverly Hills, California replaced Quando’s cousin’s life. If found guilty, Durk faces the possibility of life in prison.
