DDG made it clear that he wouldn’t joke about his son, noting the negative comments from online commenters after he and partner Halle Bailey finally revealed their child’s face.
The couple, who have kept the entire pregnancy secret and have yet to reveal baby Halo’s exact birth date, shared the first photo of the six-month-old baby’s face on Wednesday (July 3). The photo was reportedly taken shortly after the family attended the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda ’24 show at the Nora Archaeological Park in Sardinia, Italy.
When DDG learned of comments being made about his youngest son, he posted on Instagram to encourage naysayers to calm down the uproar.
“It’s been a long, long, long six months, man. Just keeping it a secret. “I don’t know, like… I read some of the comments. I know I have the most beautiful son in the world; it’s not like any baby Much more handsome than my son. If a baby were watching this right now and you were a little more handsome than my son… or not, but like you were on par with them? Congratulations; you are indeed the one percent. .
The Michigan native continued: “But I see some poor, broke, dirty, fat people [edited] Talking about my son on Instagram. This makes me very angry and angry. But then I had to realize that my son was richer than them. His life was more successful; he arrived in Italy when he was six months old; he traveled all over the world. He has traveled around the world and he has only been alive for six months. They are penniless, poor, barely able to eat, probably still living on the dole, but they grow up and probably live with their mom.
“Now, if you’re a good person and I describe your life in any way, I don’t mean to hurt you. I’m talking to people who are talking crazy about my son. I just want to say, please make sure you keep it off the internet. because i will [edited] In real life. But I don’t want to come in here and be super negative. It’s just, I’m generally protective of my family, but what about my son? Overprotective, I guess. Like, crash protection. so…”
But ultimately, the new dad used the post to express his pride and share some of his hopes for his young son’s future.
“You know, if you tell someone, ‘Two plus two equals four,’ and they tell you it’s six, you can’t be mad at them,” DDG concluded. Because you know this is four. I know that my son is handsome; I know that I have a very beautiful, smart, intelligent son. I’m very proud of him and he’s going to be the future.
He added: “Hopefully I can capture it but also keep some kind of privacy. But I do want my son to excel in a lot of different things. I don’t know if I want him to stop being an internet celebrity.” Man or shit like that but I do believe he would be very, very, very talented in some way.
The rapper/YouTuber also shared a new set of father and son photos via Instagram on Thursday (July 4).
In addition to the set of family photos DDG initially shared, he also asked fans: “Who does Halo look more like?”
DDG doesn’t seem to be getting the response he’s looking for, though, as most fans say the kid looks more like Bayley.
“Hallee… you’re the dad,” one person joked, while another said: “Your genes are asleep bro.”
DDG fired back, posting a photo of himself as a baby next to Halo and writing, “Can’t say he doesn’t look like me.”
The couple welcomed Halo late last year and recently filmed themselves encouraging their baby’s first words.
“Dada,” DDG repeated several times, Halo cooing and kicking his legs in excitement. After several unsuccessful attempts, Harlow finally echoed his father’s voice: “Dad.”
DDG and Halle let out squeals of excitement in unison for their son’s special milestone.
“My son’s first words!! He said daddy! [crying face, red heart emoji],” the former added a title to the clip. “Oh my God, please wait until the end [crying face emoji]”.
The couple announced Halo’s birth in January after months of speculation that Halle Bailey was pregnant.
