David Banner has made a bold statement about how the black community is becoming more and more like the “extremists” that have become synonymous with the conservative party.
Banner delivered the unexpected message in a recent interview with Angela Yee, saying that while it’s sure to be controversial, he believes the message needs to be heard.
“Some black people are going to be mad at me for saying that,” Banner said in part.
“Even though we’re talking about right-wing Republicans, far-right Republicans, black Americans are becoming more and more like them every day.”
With his direct style, Banner didn’t mince words, emphasizing that the community had begun to echo what he viewed as uninformed and reactionary behavior.
“We said, shit, this isn’t true, we haven’t looked into it,” he said.
“We talk about everything we don’t know what we’re talking about [about],” he added, comparing the spread of misinformation and unbridled beliefs to Donald Trump’s notorious tendency to talk about complex topics without a basis in fact.
Banner turned his attention to religion, demonstrating a lack of research and empathy in the community that extends to faith.
“Even so, if I say something about religion, people will get angry if it’s not what other people believe in,” he said. “Brother, have you ever seen a bastard who wants to fight you because of your beliefs.

The rapper deepened his criticism by arguing that black American religious beliefs are largely shaped by historical oppression.
“Most of what black people believe in America was given to them by their oppressors. Who doesn’t like you? Who in the world doesn’t like you? Banner passionately asserted.
He asked, “If you don’t like the ########### on the streets, why would they give you the keys to heaven? Would you give them the keys to your home?”
When Banner ends, his frustration with the intellectual and cultural state of his community is palpable.
“Sadly, we have a lot of ignorant assholes talking about their bullshit and we should shut down this bullshit,” he said, and Yee agreed.
Banner’s comments came as other rappers expressed support for Donald Trump, who recently became the 47th president of the United States following a successful 2024 campaign. Waka Flocka Flame recently hit back at fans who criticized him for supporting Trump despite never actually voting in the election. Judge Joe Brown singled out Vice President Kamala Harris by a series of derogatory names during her campaign. Although Banner didn’t mention anyone in particular, it’s hard not to think he didn’t have anyone mentioned above in mind when he made his comments.
