Dame Dash has been vocal about all of his dissatisfaction with Jay-Z. The two men once ran Roc-A-Fella with an iron fist but have had a serious falling out over the past two decades. Dame Dash has no qualms about using his relationships with Hov and other Roc artists to stay in the pop culture conversation. Jay-Z’s reputation in particular has come under criticism in recent weeks. Dash recently criticized the rapper’s treatment of former Roc-A-Fella signee Beanie Sigel.
Dame Dash claims he helped Beanie Sigel with her career and was troubled by Sigel’s choice to side with Jay-Z when Roc-A-Fella fell apart. “That hurt,” he admitted. “I did a lot. I chose State Property over Roc Wear.” Dash then claimed Jay-Z “cheated” on Beanie Sigel and ruined what he thought was a very promising rapper career. “It’s almost like [Jay] Dash asserts that he cheated on Beans and put his life on hold. “New Jay,” but the old Jay made sure it never came to fruition.
Dame Dash claims Beanie will be the ‘new Jay’
Dame Dash compared Beanie Sigel and the other members of the State Property group to the NWA and felt they could have become major pop culture fixtures. The former Roc-A-Fella mogul claims Beanie Siegel would have become a superstar if Bice had chosen to be with him instead of Jay. “Things I planned for him, he screwed himself over doing it,” Dash explained. “Just like I have a movie, I have a clothing line.” He also revealed that his intention is to have Beanie Sigel and Cam’ron serve as vice presidents of Roc-A-Fella because they both have their own labels.
Mrs. Dash was sorry that everything had turned out this way. Apparently, a few years later, Beanie Sigel felt the same way about Dash that Jay-Z did. The Philadelphia rapper released a diss directed at his former mentor in 2009 titled “Go Off.” However, Beans and Hov eventually put their feud to bed when they appeared together at a concert in 2015.
