Dame Dash reveals main reason for feud with Jay-Z
On Sunday (December 22), the YouTube channel “The Art of Conversation” premiered their latest interview clip with Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder Dame Dash. In a one-on-one interview, Dahm discussed his troubled relationship with Hof. Dame claimed that his rift with Jigga became untenable when Jay-Z began working with R. Kelly on 2002’s Best of Both Worlds and 2004’s Unfinished Business.
“The fact that Jay had sex with him was the biggest shock to me ever,” Dame says at the 3:05 time stamp in the video below. Like why? I just never understood it.
At the time of the album’s release, Carey was in the midst of a sex crimes scandal, having previously been confirmed to have married 15-year-old Aaliyah in 1994. album.
“Everyone knows that R. Kelly married Aaliyah when she was 15,” Dame continued. “Everybody knows that. So the conversation was, ‘Yo, how are you going to do something with this guy?’ Oh my God, yeah, that conversation was…[Jay-Z] Like, “Yo, I had nothing to do with this.” I wish someone asked him, ‘Why did you work on a project with that man when you knew he raped Aaliyah?
“There were a lot of other things, but that alone was the nail in the coffin for me,” Dame added, insisting that Jay was in love with Aaliyah before he got together with her. “I got out of there, I left. I knew that thing was going to explode. I didn’t want any part of that thing. So me and him were done.”
Back in October, Dame opened up about why he appeared in Jay-Z and R. Kelly’s “Fiesta (Remix)” video, even though he wasn’t rocking out with Kelly.
