Drake couldn’t escape the shadow of Kendrick Lamar’s “Don’t Like Us” on Hollywood’s biggest night, as Toronto rap superstar became an unexpected focus for the Oscars.
Conan O’Brien hosted the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday (March 2) without backing off. He poked Drake sharply when the ceremony returned from the commercial break, referring to the harsh diss of K. Dot and the subsequent lawsuits of the founder of OVO Sound.
“Well, we’re half the show,” O’Brien quipped among the star-studded crowd at the Dolby Theater. “That means it’s time for Kendrick Lamar to come out and call Drake for pedophile!”
Before O’Brien smiled, the gasping audience gasped, followed by laughter:
“Don’t worry – I’m a lawyer!”

Kendrick Lamar delivered his explosive track in the Super Bowl halftime show last month – despite being different from O’Brien’s Oscar jab, he paused to post Drake directly to the pedophile.
Just a few days ago, Lamar swept the Grammys, winning five awards, “Don’t Like Us,” which included Record of the Year and Song of the Year, laying the foundation for Drake.

However, in his final performance before unplugging, Drake talked about his ongoing quarrel with Lamar, shooting a shot against his former collaborator whom he now considers unfaithful.
“For all the collaborators, producers and artists I’ve worked with,” he began to do a sharp jab: “You know, the people who didn’t put p ####…I mean, the people who are still real. I thank you.”
He added: “My truth is. Thank you for changing the lives of me and everyone around me.”

Meanwhile, Drake cuts down on Universal Music Group’s lawsuit on Lamar’s diss. Drake agreed to waive the main charges, although it is unclear which charges are unclear, which raises doubts about the strength of his case, court documents show.
