Kevin McCall fired back on Instagram on Tuesday night (October 21) after his emotional podcast appearance caused a stir and Young Thug stepped in to offer financial help.
“Remember this: You can’t walk over a burned bridge. You know what’s funnier than a troll? A broken bridge,” Brown wrote on his Instagram Story. He didn’t mention McCall by name, but the timing and tone made the goal obvious.
McCall followed the attack in a tearful appearance on the “Back On Figg” podcast, where he revealed that despite writing several of Brown’s early hits, including “Deuces” and “Strip,” he was struggling financially.
During the nearly three-hour show, McCall pulled out his EBT card and asked why he was in poverty while Brown was living a life of luxury.
“Why did I get an EBT card? And this n#### made ninety or whatever million at the Breezy Bowl,” McCall said, clearly excited. “Dude, can I get $25,000 for the four songs I owe you?”
He burst into tears and said, “It’s not fair, man!”

Young Thug defends Chris Brown and offers to take on alleged debt
The video quickly went viral, prompting Young Thug to express his support. The Atlanta rapper told McCall in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that he would personally pay off the alleged $25,000 debt.
“Kevin McCall called me my n#### and I’ll give you the 25k you need I don’t have a CB to give you that too bro he’s a real one. N##### gets busy sometimes,” Thug wrote.

McCall’s relationship with Brown has been fractured for nearly a decade. The two collaborated on several successful records in the early 2010s, but later fell out publicly.
Between 2014 and 2016, McCall accused Brown of withholding royalties and requested meetings to resolve business issues. Brown responded by mocking him online, calling him a “bottom breeder” and threatening violence.
In the resurfaced footage, Brown dismissed McCall’s complaints, saying he used funds from their partnership to buy the award and car, before adding, ” [McCall’s] money” and then called him a “b####”.
