Veteran rapper Chino XL has died at the age of 50.
News of the death of the rapper, whose real name was Derek Emmanuel Barbosa, began circulating on Twitter early Monday amid unconfirmed reports. Rapper AFRO later confirmed the death of his old friend on his official X (formerly Twitter) page.
“RIP CHINO XL… I will miss you man 🕊️,” he wrote. “Damn…RIP legend Chino XL 🙏🏾,” Joe Budden wrote.

His cause of death has not yet been released. Chino XL is a guest on Rakim’s album “GOD’S NETWORK – REB7RTH”, which was released on July 25, and he said it was a dream come true for him.
