The Neptunes rivalry seemed never-ending, with Ferrell and Chad Hugo going back and forth in legal battles. First there was the issue of copyright, now it’s the issue of proper credit and compensation.
Not long ago, Hugo filed a second lawsuit against Pharrell, who is widely regarded as one of the best music producers of this generation. According to Hugo, not only was he not properly credited as author of some of the songs he and Farrell wrote, but he also missed out on fair compensation for his efforts.
Now, Hugo has provided more details about the matter and provided the court with specific song titles in order to make a more solid claim. So far, the list includes the following songs:
“Motomami” by Rosalía
“La Combi Versace” by Rosalia
“Cash in, cash out”
“Love is not written”
“Pure”
“Real One” Foot Lato
“Lost and Found” ft. Tyler, the Creator
“Freestyle” ft. Tyler the Creator
It will be interesting to see Farrell’s legal response to this; what do you think?
