Takeoff murder trial update
Patrick Xavier Clark, 35, and Cameron Joshua, 24, were both arrested a month after the flight and charged in connection with the murders, with Clark charged with murder , Joshua was charged with possession of a weapon. Police said Takeoff was an innocent bystander who was shot after an argument over dice in front of 810 Billards and Bowling Casino.
In January 2023, Clark was released on $1 million bail. In May of that year, he was indicted by a grand jury. Since then, the case has appeared to move slowly, with Clark’s legal team filing several motions for discovery and making requests to the judge. Most recently in November, Clark requested and received $20,000 to hire a senior visualization analyst and defense expert to assist with his case.
There is also an internal investigation that appears to complicate matters further. Police used surveillance footage that allegedly showed Clark shooting Teoff and DNA evidence from a wine bottle Clark was possessing at the time to arrest him and charge him with the crime. Clark’s case was not one of those mishandled by Austin. However, this also opened the door for Clark’s defense to get fouled.
Patrick Clark’s next court appearance is scheduled for February 25, according to court documents obtained by XXL on Monday (January 20).
XXL has reached out to his attorney for comment.
