Cardi B fans have been waiting for the follow-up to 2018’s “Invasion of Privacy” for more than six years, and it looks like the wait for the new album is about to end.
The Grammy Award-winning rapper has been teasing the project for over a year. Cardi at one point threatened not to give up this year, though she later walked back her statement.
Despite filing for divorce from estranged husband Offset, a new baby on the way and complications from a freak accident, Cardi B has committed to launching the project this year.
Cardi B responded to a post on Chat Data on Monday (September), revealing that she has sold more than 500,000 albums in the United States this year alone. Encouraged by the health data, Cardi B vows playtime is over and she’s moving forward with the plan.
“The album still sells like a good album,” she replied. “Okay okay, let me stop playing and drop the second album.”

Earlier this year, Cardi B admitted she was “nervous” but “excited” to drop the album, revealing, “It’s a lot different than what everyone expected.”
Then, in April, she vowed to cancel 2024 releases after a high-profile spat with fans.
“Anyway, I don’t care if there’s no album this year,” she insists. “I’m taking it easy this year. Letting go of these features I’ve committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.
However, she quickly deleted the tweet, and her publicist confirmed to Rolling Stone that the album will be released in 2024.
“I take my music very seriously, which is why I don’t put it out,” she told the magazine. “Because if it’s not perfect to me, if every f###### word doesn’t sound right, if the beat overpowers the words or the words overpowers the beat, I don’t want to put it out.”
