Cam’ron sparked a debate over who “loves” hip-hop more between Jay-Z and Nas by claiming that Hov cares more about money, while Nas is really into money.
The discussion was sparked after Antonio Brown criticized Hoff’s performance at Tom Brady’s Patriots Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Although Cam’ron sees Jay-Z as a “hip-hop” historian, he thinks the Roc Nation mogul is more passionate about business.
“I believe, to me (my personal opinion), Jay-Z doesn’t like hip-hop,” Cam said on a recent episode of “It Is What It Is.” “I think he’s very into hip-hop, [but] I think he prefers the money and the opportunity to take his brand to the next level.
Over the weekend, Antonio Brown called out Jay-Z for not participating in the Hip-Hop 50 event last year. He responded to a social media post about Hough’s surprising performance at the June 12 ceremony.
“Jay didn’t perform at any Hip-Hop 50 concerts last year, fans will know every word to his songs, but he sometimes gets ignored by rich white people. Shhh,” he wrote.

However, Cam said some of the Hip-Hop 50 celebrations “might not be to his liking.” Additionally, Cam’ron believes Jay-Z’s presence may have something to do with his role in the NFL.
Cam then mentioned Nas, saying it was “refreshing” for Nas to pay tribute to the pioneers at the Hip-Hop 50 celebration. “I don’t think he’s into it as much as someone like Nas. Nas loves hip-hop,” he added. “He’s another rich guy, but he likes hip-hop music. Nah voted Hip-Hop 50 [event] at Yankee Stadium. It doesn’t get more hip-hop than this.
