During a recent episode of the sports talk show, Cam’ron and Ma$e appeared to mock professional boxer Shakur Stevenson’s alleged suicide.
The New York rappers appeared to mock boxer Shakur Sith after Teofimo Lopez recounted his alleged suicide attempt nearly 10 years ago on “It Is What It Is” Shakur Stevenson faced criticism.
The controversial moment began to unfold when Camron tried to pressure Lopez to explain why Lopez wouldn’t fight Stevenson out of respect for J. Prince. The rapper got into a fight with Stevenson earlier this year following a delivery.
“I saw you somewhere and you were like, ‘I’m never going to fight Shakur,'” Camron said, imitating Lopez’s voice. “‘That’s really not my thing. I’m offended by J Prince’s respect. What does J Prince have to do with you beating up the Shakur brothers? What’s going on? I’m glad you’re here. Let’s talk about it.
“I love it,” Lopez said. “That’s the way it is. I love it. New York, all men. I love it. Yeah. No, honestly, I’m not trying to put this guy through his first loss. I’m going to let someone else take over and handle this.” matter.
Things really started to boil over when Lopez recalled the story of Stevenson trying to jump off a hotel roof after losing the 2015 National Golden Gloves Championship. Lopez explained how Stevenson, known for his undefeated career record, was left mentally shattered by the loss and even considered taking his own life.
“He lost it, man,” Lopez said. “He wanted to go to the roof of the hotel, and then he wanted to jump.” As Lopez told the serious story, Camron and Mahe’s reactions seemed to downplay the seriousness of the situation.

Camron jumped in and asked in a condescending tone: “Is he really on the roof? Or are you just kidding? After Lopez confirmed the seriousness of the situation, the two quickly moved on. Ma$ e briefly mentioned mental health, saying, “Mental health is a serious thing. I’m not going to laugh about this,” and the conversation quickly devolved, leaving many in the audience uneasy with the light-hearted exchange.
This isn’t the first time Cam’ron and Ma$e have clashed with Shakur Stevenson. The undefeated boxer feuded with two rappers on social media earlier this year. The exchange sparked a viral response from the show, with Ma$e telling J. Prince, “We’re not your little n###as.” Tensions began to arise after the host criticized his performance, and Steven Sen didn’t take this lightly.
Despite previous feuds, the hosts were quick to claim they bore no ill will towards the boxer.
“We’re not going to sit here and attack Shakur because this is not where we started with Shakur,” Camron said. “He’s an undefeated warrior.”
