Bob received a heartfelt tribute from his hometown when the Atlanta City Council presented him with an official proclamation backstage at the Buckhead Theater during the 15th Anniversary Tour of The Adventures of Bobby Ray.
The recognition comes on the heels of a performance commemorating the 15th anniversary of his debut album, a project that helped catapult the Atlanta native to global hip-hop fame.
The committee’s announcement celebrates not only his hits like “Airplanes” and “Nothin’ on You,” but also his contributions to Atlanta’s cultural identity and music scene.
The multi-platinum recording artist shared a clip of the backstage moment on Instagram, thanking those who have supported him from the beginning.
“Dedicate this proclamation to everyone who has been by my side since day one! Ground Zero! Years of hard work leading up to a moment of gratitude like this! Cheers to ATL! Decatur stands up!” he wrote in the caption.
