Blueface’s financial empire is under serious threat after a Los Angeles judge ordered that Blueface’s music royalties be withheld to satisfy a $125,000 defamation judgment, dealing another blow to the rapper’s already troubled legal and financial situation.
The 28-year-old rapper lost a major court battle when Judge Peter Hernandez ruled that royalties collected by BMI and ASCAP must be distributed to Jackilyn Martinez.
According to MyNewsLA, she won a nearly $125,000 default judgment in a defamation case, but Blueface completely ignored it.
Martinez filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court in December 2023 after Blueface posted on social media suggesting that Soulja Boy’s 2-year-old child might be his.
Martinez, the boy’s mother, described in the rapper’s statement that the boy suffered “severe emotional and mental distress, including depression, anxiety, panic attacks and crying.”
The original verdict awarded Martinez $123,245, including $100,000 in pain and suffering damages. With interest, the amount had grown to $129,150 by mid-October, according to a sworn statement from her attorney, Michael Berke.
This latest legal setback comes as Blueface faces several serious legal troubles. The “Respect My Cryppin” rapper was sentenced to four years in prison in August 2024 for violating probation in a September 2021 attack.
He was convicted of assaulting a security guard at a North Hollywood lounge after he was asked to leave.
However, Blueface was released from North Kern State Prison in November 2025, after serving about 21 months of his four-year sentence.
His early release surprised many, with his family announcing his freedom on social media.
Since his release from prison, Blueface has immediately returned to music. He released his first single since his release from prison, “Babygirl,” and the music video featured Hazel-E. The song marks his comeback after nearly two years in prison.
But Blueface isn’t just focusing on music to rebuild his finances. The rapper has been actively pursuing reality television and streaming opportunities to diversify his income streams.
The forfeiture of royalties is a major financial blow to Blueface, which still faces more than $13 million in other civil lawsuits.
