Big Sean clears up questions about Lil Yachty on ‘Better Me Than You’

On “Better Me Than You,” Big Sean pours out his emotions and thoughts. After such a long wait between projects, the Detroit rapper is definitely looking to make up for lost time in this regard as well as the amount of material. In addition to the standard release of his sixth studio LP, he has released four physically exclusive alternative versions. They come in vinyl format and are titled “Feeling,” “Focus,” “Clarity,” and “Pressure.” That last question has generated some discussion online thanks to a sit-down between Sean and Complex.

During the interview, he was asked about a few lines from “Wire Me,” which appears to be the only bonus track included on the aforementioned release. In it, Big Sean raps, “I mean, I might even have to throw ’em a boat – poof / I see ’em drowned ’cause they can’t switch flows / Just give ’em a year or two , they will be exposed.” Due to the inclusion of lil’boat, what many immediately thought was that this was a direct shot at Lil Yachty. However, according to HipHopDX, Sean Down quickly debunked the rumors.

“I’m not talking about [Lil Yachty]. Yachty also appears on the album. He improvised with me on “Yes.” No, I’m not attacking Yachty. It’s like a pun. If I was referring to him]that would be a completely different sentence,” he explained. Later, he mentioned that fans might hear more of Georgia’s multi-hyphenate on the project. “He’s with me In the studio when I was making the album. He actually has a poem [‘Yes’] also. I might throw it in there later”. It’s definitely a fun thing to do and we hope he can do it.
