K. Michelle isn’t the only artist to receive a thank-you note from Queen Bey recently.
Earlier this week, Beyoncé took a moment from her busy schedule as she prepped her new album to send a handwritten note to friend and collaborator Nicki Minaj.
Minaj shared the news on social media on Wednesday (March 27), expressing her excitement that Bey praised her new Pink Friday nail collection, who also congratulated the Queens rapper on the success of his current tour.
“Onika, I just received your nail art collection and I love them,” Bey wrote. “Thank you so much for taking care of me and congratulations on the launch and tour. Love you, Beyoncé.”
Sharing the message to Twitter/X, Minaj added: “Barbz, #PinkFridayNails is Queen approved. Thank you Beyoncé. Love you.”
Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé collaborated on “Feeling Myself” from the former’s Pinkprint album in 2014, and also collaborated on Bey’s “Flawless (Remix)” that same year.
In a 2022 conversation with Barbz on Twitter, Minaj pointed out that she had made her relationship with the R&B queen known years before they were in a relationship.
The “Anaconda” rapper tweeted that when she wrote her 2010 song “Girls Fall Like Dominoes,” in which she raps, “I’m in Paris, Muthafucka, with Beyoncé,” she even Haven’t met Bey yet.
“When I wrote ‘GFLD,’ I had nothing but imagination and I said, ‘I went to Paris with Beyoncé,'” Nicki wrote. “Never met/spoke to her. I would definitely not work with her. She first invited me to perform with her at the end of my third album #ThePinkprint. In Paris.”
