Beyoncé announced that her BeyGOOD charitable foundation has donated $2.5 million to aid Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts as wildfires continue to ravage Southern California.
The fund is dedicated to assisting families who have lost their homes in Altadena and Pasadena and supporting churches and community centers to meet the critical needs of those displaced by wildfires.
The fire broke out on January 7 and quickly swept through the area, driven by strong winds. The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for severe fires as firefighters prepare for another wave of Santa Ana winds that are expected to last through Tuesday and possibly into Wednesday.
As of Sunday (January 12), the death toll rose to 24, with thousands of homes destroyed and entire communities reduced to rubble.
At least 16 people remain missing, and authorities warn the number may rise.
Last week, Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, and her cherished Malibu bungalow were also destroyed in the fire.
“This is my favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred place of joy,” she shared on Instagram. “It’s gone now!!”

Los Angeles Fire Chief Christine Crowley called on residents to avoid entering fire-damaged neighborhoods.
“There are still fires burning in the Palisades area, which is extremely dangerous to the public,” Crowley said at a news conference Sunday. “There’s no power, no water, gas lines are broken, and our structures It’s also unstable.”
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, 150,000 people are still under evacuation orders. Officials said most orders in the Palisades area are unlikely to be lifted before the red flag warning expires Wednesday night.
