Geechi Gotti was arrested on February 5 in Butler County, Ohio and faces four drug possession charges and one failure to comply charge.
Police filed multiple drug possession charges against Geach, whose real name is Marcus Fantroy. The charges involve Schedule I and Schedule II substances.
Gigi Gotti was also charged with failure to comply for ignoring police signals.
Schedule I or II drugs typically include cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, LSD, and certain prescription opioids and stimulants.
In Ohio, these charges can result in up to 10 years in prison.
The arrest took place far away from Geach’s headquarters in Compton, California. Butler County is located in southwestern Ohio. Battle rap fans are shocked that the West Coast legend is locked up in the Midwest.
Geach is known as one of the most consistent performers in battle rap. Members of the battle rap community flooded his social media with prayers and messages of support.
A court date for Geach’s charges has not yet been announced.
