A$AP Rocky and J. Cole hit hard bars on “Ruby Rosary”
A$AP Rocky premiered “Ruby Rosary,” a collaboration with J. Cole, on Friday (September 6). This is the first official collaboration between the two rappers on the same track. The song can be heard below, with Rocky and Cole serving the bar over a beat produced by The Alchemist. Lyrically, these two rhymes mock your top 5 songs by delivering hard-hitting bars over melodic, soulful piano grooves.
“Cut the crap, cut the lies, speak to the wise/Who’s in your top five? Haha (fuck your top five)/I don’t have a fresh move, asshole, I’m buried alive/It’s funny what I heard dude say , like ‘Family Guy’ / Carin’ for n***a, like I’m Mary or Bob / Made a promise to God, gotta work hard when you married a thug,” ASAP Rocky rap track.
Cole, meanwhile, dished on moving forward in the rap game and not looking back on what he did in the past.
“Connected to God, I’m a ship, you ignore them when they ask for old/Going backwards is boring, b***h, and I’m not Michael Jordan, I don’t do retro/Ugh, Oops, tell them again like an echo,” he says in the song.
“Ruby Rosary” is a single from the Harlem rapper’s upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb, due out this fall. So far, he has released “HIGHJACK” and “Tailor Swif” featuring Jessica Pratt. The music video for “Tailor Swif” is one of the most creatively bizarre visuals from an artist in quite some time.

A$AP Rocky reveals more details about Don’t Be Dumb song
A$AP Rocky’s fourth studio album Don’t Be Dumb was originally scheduled to be released on August 30, but has now been postponed to the fall. According to Flacko, leaks and sample gaps were responsible for the delays. Rocky initially teased a 2022 release date for his new album, when he revealed during a performance on Amazon Music Live that a full-length project was in the works. He announced the 2022 album title in December and said the project was complete.
Since then, details about the record have been sparse. However, on August 22, Rhymer shared more information about his upcoming project in an interview with Billboard .
During the discussion, Rocky talked about two songs from the project: “Shroom Cloud” and “Grim.” He describes “Shroom Cloud” as an experimental track that addresses social issues. Flacco said “grim” is a description of what is happening “right now.” The song blends German Expressionism with ghetto futurism.
“Don’t Be Dumb” is the follow-up to A$AP Rocky’s 2018 album Testing, which included the double-platinum song “Praise Da Lord (Da Shine)” with Skepta.
