Ari Lennox is causing a stir on social media after she opened up about her latest same-sex dating experiment and why it failed.
Dreamville’s R&B first lady has always been open with fans, but she recently revealed that she’s gotten into the same-sex dating pool, sparking quite a bit of discussion.
In a recent live Q&A session shared on social media, Lennox shared an intimate anecdote about a brief and ultimately uncomfortable experience she had on a date with a woman earlier this year. Lennox revealed details of her female dalliances for the first time when a fan asked her if she would consider dating a woman again.
“Quasimoto said, ‘Would you still try to date a woman? Aren’t you thirsty? Yes, thirsty – no,'” Lennox replied. “This year I tried for a second to get to know this person and then it just felt weird.”
She went on to admit that the situation made her feel unsure about herself, causing her to quickly move on from the experience.
“Then I felt insecure and I was like, ‘No, I’m fine. Let me stick to what I know,'” she said.
She also addressed the ongoing speculation and pressure from some fans about her sexuality.
“Why do you guys always want Ali to be a lesbian?” she joked, flipping the script on the persistent rumors. “Because Ali made herself very lesbian. Ali made herself a lesbian.”
Lennox went deeper into how challenging she found the whole situation and commented on what she learned about women while testing the waters.
“I think as a woman, it’s hard,” she said. “I don’t understand them. I don’t even understand myself.

Once audio of Lennox’s live stream appeared on platforms like Twitter (X), users immediately began attacking the “Shae Butter Baby” singer and making light of what she described as a confusing situation.
“Women don’t even understand us cooked women,” one user responded in a post that included a clip from the video. “I’m so excited for Ari Lennox’s live performance,” one user tweeted. Another user added, “B###He doesn’t even understand women, I’m weak.”
However, the light-hearted tone of the livestream changed when Lennox recounted a bizarre encounter with a follower who seemed to reduce her to her biological attributes.
“‘Why don’t you give birth somewhere,’ what does that mean?” Lennox vented. “What is this#######? Is this all I have for you? v######, the womb, the giver of life? But, things have gotten out of hand.
Lennox has definitely gained a lot of popularity lately due to the unpredictable and unedited nature of her live streams. She went viral last month for vowing to do weird things to raise money to pay off her debt to the IRS.
