It’s no secret that Akbar V has a long-standing love affair with Nicki Minaj. For that reason, it’s no surprise that the woman took to social media today to wish the “FTCU” rapper a happy birthday. She turns 42 today and to mark the occasion, Akbar wrote a heartfelt message to her on X.
“Happy birthday to my sister @NICKIMINAJ, I love you and thank you for everything you do for women in rap, thank you for the behind-the-scenes tips you give me, and thank you for not being who they are trying to be [portray] ” she wrote. “Love you.
Akbar V thanks Nicki Minaj for her contribution to female rap
However, this is far from the first time Akbar V paid tribute to Nikki. Last summer, she even dropped a song seemingly dedicated to her, which caused some controversy among fans. While some thought it was a good move, others thought she went too far. Regardless, she stood by the track and defended herself on X. I’m a fan of hers. I wanted to follow in her musical footsteps, period. I love her and I’m inspired [and] [I] Don’t care who said it [d**k] riding. I don’t care, I rap. I’m a rapper. I looked up to her and still do, every rap [b**ch] [does],” she wrote at the time.
“They just don’t want to admit it [it] [because] [they’re] So obsessed with ‘Nikki Hated Trains,'” she continued. “Nikki never told me to do this [nothing] Like when I was on the streets, my friends never told me to dislike people, if they didn’t like them… I, Akbar V, am loyal and always will be.
