Ab-Soul spoke out following Kendrick Lamar’s fight with Drake.
After reuniting with his fellow black hippies at the epic The Pop Out: Ken & Friends concert, Sulo shared his thoughts on the conflict. Despite what some fans believe, Ab-Soul says Drake can redeem himself.
On Monday night (July 8), Ab-Soul reflected on the battle in a series of posts on X (Twitter)
“If Drake is MC, I think he can be, too,” Ab-Soul began. “Redemption is not impossible.” However, Ab-Soul added a clarifying statement, stating “the keyword ‘MC’.”
Despite his thoughts on Drake’s possible redemption, Abu-Sole made one thing clear – the Toronto superstar is no match for Kendrick Lamar, and he doesn’t want to be misunderstood.
“But b4 my rant was taken out of context. He could never fit in with Gang’Nem in rap music. That was never a problem,” he added. “We can still potentially match the artistry. (Removing my obvious personal/educational bias). If this is seen as any kind of antics than ISM. Well…if you’re angry just get out. Dead brothers.
Ab-Soul also quoted lyrics from K. Dot’s “6:16 in LA” before asserting, “This is not a rap battle. This is scripture.”

Since the battle, Drake has kept a relatively low profile, appearing on a few singles to mixed reviews. While Ab-Soul believes Drake can find a way out if he gets into his “MC” bag, that’s not the case with his recent guest appearances.
Meanwhile, the hype surrounding Lamar’s “Not Like Us” has reached fever pitch after the visual dropped on Independence Day (July 4).
Fans question if the fight took a toll on Drake
On the same day that K. Dot shared the video, Drake was attending Michael Rubin’s annual White Party in the Hamptons. However, fans were shocked by the images from the fight, with many claiming that Drake appeared to have aged significantly since the fight.
The Kendrick beef really took a toll on the guy, didn’t it? Damn it. Drake is as old as the president now. The more I look at this, the less it looks like Drake. Now this is Aubrey. pic.twitter.com/xPgidKjIxD

Over the past few months, Drake has aged a full ten years. This is the face of a thoughtful man. pic.twitter.com/2t6m7tC3mx
