A$AP Rocky has set a Jan. 16 release date for his long-awaited album Don’t Be Dumb, tapping visionary director Tim Burton to craft cover art that adds a cinematic feel to the Harlem rapper’s musical comeback.

The A$AP Mob frontman shared the news on social media, revealing the album title and visuals while thanking Burton for helping bring his concept to life.

“Movie,” Loki wrote, summing up the scope of the project in one word. He also addressed the long delay between albums, saying: “Sorry for the delay.”

Rihanna immediately commented in support of her partner’s statement. “So fucking proud!!!! Let’s fuck off baby,” she posted, adding fuel to the already buzzing conversation about the upcoming release.

A$AP Rocky hasn’t dropped a full-length project since testing it in 2018, which received mixed reviews from critics and listeners.

In the years since, the rapper has faced legal obstacles that could slow his creative output, including a high-profile trial in the shooting death of A$AP Relli, in which he was ultimately exonerated.

Despite the setback, anticipation for his next project is growing, and the rap star continues to flex his muscles as Chanel’s new brand ambassador.

Burton’s involvement hints at a visually rich, stylized presentation.

The filmmaker, known for directing “Edward Scissorhands” and “Batman,” brought a signature gothic aesthetic that could shape the album’s tone and launch.

The timing of “Don’t Be Dumb”‘s release makes it one of the earliest major hip-hop releases of 2026, arriving in a crowded season of new album releases.
